Monument of a New Fitness Era.
March 21, 2008
As you drove down to CFSCC did you see the tractor-trailer at the HQ site? Fifteen Marines from Camp Pendleton drove up and Coach Glassman donated all the equipment to them. The morning started with a workout: "Fran" and then the guys proceeded to take the place down. It all went into the truck and will live on at the Camp Pendleton Base. It was the dismantling of a museum, as Coach Glassman said... "a historic place where a new age in fitness began...".
The guys loaded the truck...took about 3 hours to get everything out. Even the floors and everything on the walls!

The folding of the flag, done with respect. Presented to Coach Glassman.

The Team from Pendleton and Greg and Lauren Glassman gather around the final piece of equipment. The platform was carried out by Greg and Lauren in an emotional finale to the event.

Hi,
The garden, to be built in the shadow of two Vietnam-era helicopters and a tank, will have a central monument with brick walkways, benches, landscaping and memorials to those who served in the different wars.
